You Never Can Tell...

...Where your creative muse will take you, that is. I thought I would be busy stitching all kinds of things but I ended following the muse into my kitchen. I made egg rolls...

and ravioli with a creamy cheese & mushroom filling...

as well as grilled salmon with an orange glaze for dinner...

Don't worry I've been sorta busy in the stitching department so stay tuned, I promise to have some completed projects very very soon. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Where I've Been?

I've been busy with a little stray who appeared under a butterfly bush. All he wants is to be held and loved so of course I am happy to comply. However, all this nurturing has prevented me from getting things done. Hopefully this week I can get through my chore list and devote a little time to making things. I still need to get things made for my etsy store so...fingers crossed!

Birthday Brooch

Here are a few pictures of the felt and crochet flower pin I made for an adorable and stylish 84 year old lady. She is an inspiration to all who meet her! I only hope when I am her age I have her zest for life and her fashion sense!

It's amazing what you can get done poolside! Seems to me these socks are happy to finally have their toes sewn up and be able to soak up some rays before they get stuffed into a pair of shoes.

Thank goodness I have someone to hold my calls! Not that it helped me get much done today. I did manage to register on etsy though even if I don't have anything to sell yet, but at least I'm set up for when I do.
On the 'To Do' list:

• sew the sock toes
• make 2 felt magnets (for people I can't mention in case they see)
• start some flower pins for the new etsy shop
• laundry,empty dishwasher, laundry and figure out whats for dinner...

I don't expect to get much of it done but we'll see...

Apparently I have issues sewing up the toes on my finished socks.
One pair was actually supposed to be a Christmas present! Now it
will be that person's birthday gift. Better late than never I guess.

Hoot...Hoot...

Of course owl's don't really say 'Hoot' but whatever, just thought I'd share with you something I made for my mother in law. I actually knit the owl a while ago. It's a pattern from Ysolda. I haven't figured out how to put a link here so you can just check the
blogs I'm following and you'll find her blog in that list. She was kind enough to post the pattern for free. Anyway, I've been thinking about what to do with this little guy for months. Then I thought, why not turn him into a magnet! Of course he needed some stability so I attached him to a felt background with a sun and branch to stand on. The colors match my MIL's kitchen and I know she's gonna love it.
It was a rainy day yesterday and I got a lot of sewing done (even though I had a headache all day). I even completed another flower pin. Stay tuned for the update on it...
